Job Title: Tax Manager, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the Specialized Tax Services Partnerships, your primary responsibility is to advise clients on the tax implications of their business objectives with a focus on partnership-specific issues. This includes, but is not limited to, section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations. You will apply your knowledge and experience to understand potential partnership taxation issues and assist in the preparation of partnership specific computations. This role is integral to the leadership team of the Partnerships Practice and involves active participation in the development of the group. Additional duties include:

- Maintaining and developing an in-depth understanding of partnership taxation technical and practical issues.
- Identifying and researching complex tax issues, providing clear analysis and methodology.
- Training associates and senior associates on research skills and tax issue analysis.
- Assisting in developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits, particularly in reducing current and future taxes while managing risk.
- Supervising associates and senior associates, reviewing their work, and providing feedback.
- Acting as a career advisor and managing the workload of associates and senior associates.
- Participating in process improvement and team-building initiatives, maintaining client relationships, and acting as a source of guidance to other team members.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- A Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience is required.
- Specialized partnership experience is required.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience with private equity at both fund and portfolio company levels is preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) is preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is also preferred.

Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software is preferred.

- Ability to effectively delegate work and manage a team of tax professionals.
- Strong analytical, research, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and develop and maintain client relationships.

- Proven ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with firm and client personnel and successfully interact with professionals at all levels.
- Ability to cultivate a positive team environment and contribute to the professional development of team personnel.
- Executive presence and ability to act as the primary contact on assigned engagements.

Salary Information:
Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined after considering various factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The national salary range is $79,800 to $168,000, with the same range applicable for Maryland, NYC/Long Island/Westchester, and Washington DC.
