Job Title: Patent Attorney/Agent Intellectual Property Supervisor
Experience Information:
Patent Agent experience minimum 5 years
Minimum 2 years supervisory experience (preference in leading an IP team)
Core Responsibilities:
Role reports to President/CEO
Supervise administrative aspects of the IP department including personnel, dockets, records, risk assessments and budget
Monitor departments and design reviews to identify patentable subject matter
Draft US and foreign patent applications based on reviewed subject matter
Develop patent illustrations with in-house designer for US & foreign patent applications
Coordinate office action responses and clearance opinions with outside counsel
Review and approve new product designs in Phase 2 of the Product Development Process.
Counsel and provide relevant coaching to company personnel regarding IP matters.
Assist outside counsel and in-house Legal with potential or existing IP litigation
Evaluate the patent portfolio with the supervisor for payment of maintenance fees
Maintain the IP department’s virtual patent label program
Assist the Legal Team with IP licensing and other technology agreements
Update competitive patent intelligence for Executive Management
Evaluate competitive products for patent infringement
Coordinate with marketing to manage the trademark portfolio

Bachelor's degree (.) in technical discipline (engineering, hydraulics and/or electronics is preferred)
Attorneys must have a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited US law school
