Job Title: Paralegal/Case Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal/Case Manager at the law firm is responsible for overseeing cases in various legal areas, including Family Law, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Bankruptcy, and Criminal Law. The role requires coordination of all case details before, during, and after trials. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting pre-claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments.
- Performing administrative tasks such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
- Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes.
- Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Aiding attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
- Gathering relevant information from a variety of sources.
- Acting as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and third parties.
- Assisting with voir dire, jury selection, and witness preparation.
- Providing assistance with case settlements.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Paralegal Associate's degree or other relevant certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience or equivalent legal work, high-level administrative experience, etc., is required.
- Proven working experience as a paralegal in one or more of the specified practice areas is necessary.
- Experience with Microsoft Office for at least 1 year is required.
- English language proficiency is required, while Spanish proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills:
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, and practices.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Extensive computer and database expertise.
Salary Information:
