Legal Secretary The candidate should have 3-5 years of experience to join an established National Litigation Team. This position provides a wide range of secretarial, administrative, and clerical support to a legal team in a fast-paced environment. Continuously maintains electronic and paper files, indexes and tabulations. Format letters, pleadings, and other forms. Document editing and proof reading. Manage e-filing, files and client relationships. Download files from Court Systems and upload to Firm internal drives. Prepare rough drafts, proofreads before finalizing legal documents. Open all incoming mail, review and handle. Copy and mail all letters, documents, and packages to various parties via Certified/Registered USPS, FedEx, or other courier services. Professionally answer and direct phone calls or client emails. Setup conference calls and arrange meetings. Schedule depositions as necessary. Assist in trial preparations. Assist in preparing bills and collections. Serve as the liaison between the trial team and third parties such as clients and courtroom personnel. Maintain attorney calendars by denoting due dates, depositions and other pleadings, hearings, trial calendars, etc. Prepare and process expense reports for assigned attorneys. Familiarity with legal billing and collections. Demonstrate initiative and self-direction. Strong attention to details and work ethic. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Advanced user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
