Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information regarding their legal issues.
- Collaborate with lawyers in trial preparation by conducting thorough research on legal articles, organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documentation, including pleadings and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents.
- Manage law office activities, including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers.
- Calendar court dates, deadlines, and attorney obligations to ensure timely compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Conduct jail visits as required.
- File motions and other pleadings accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain client files and manage digital case management systems efficiently.
- Conduct case preparation, track discovery status, and organize exhibits for trials.
- Accurately handle sensitive tasks such as phone system updates or vendor coordination.
- Assist with trial preparation and provide general administrative support to the legal team.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, which may include an Associate’s degree or a proprietary school program in paralegal studies. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting is required.
- Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and a talent for writing and grammar.
- A strong preference is given to candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have pursued advanced paralegal education.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position is $57,000 - $65,000 annually.
