Job Title: Senior Litigation Paralegal - Personal Injury
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Litigation Paralegal at the law firm plays a crucial role in supporting the legal team by managing various aspects of litigation case management, particularly in the personal injury sector. The responsibilities include:
- Multi-tasking and effective communication with team members and the public.
- Problem-solving and handling tasks efficiently and professionally, adapting to diverse internal and external clientele.
- Understanding and communicating in accordance with applicable State Bar rules to protect information and confidentiality, avoiding unauthorized practice of law.
- Adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Working in-office as scheduled to meet with clients, collaborate with team members, attend training sessions, and participate in events.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology, including case management software, computers, databases, portals, State and Federal e-filing, and other necessary software for case management.
- Maintaining excellent customer service and interfacing with clients, providers, and team members according to policies and procedures.
- Preparing documents, such as medical summaries, correspondence, discovery, pleadings, and administrative forms for attorney approval.
- Interfacing with clients on non-legal issues related to case management and referring legal issues to attorneys.
- Assisting attorneys with written and verbal communications with adjusters, defense counsel, court administration, and clients.
- Communicating effectively with clients to gather pertinent information and data, such as treatment status and medical information, and notifying attorneys of any changes or new information.
- Conducting preparation for legal proceedings, submitting appropriate information and legal forms/documents to organizations, and understanding necessary forms and procedures.
- Demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills to optimize case management.
- Collaborating with attorneys and team members to handle client cases effectively, identifying relevant facts and issues to achieve optimal results for clients.
- Gathering, processing, and organizing incoming medical records, bills, pleadings, legal filings, and other case-related documents in a timely manner.
- Notifying attorneys when pertinent records or information is received and completing associated tasks.
- Managing and completing assigned tasks per procedure.
- Processing and reviewing mail daily for additional case information and advising attorneys accordingly.
- Confirming balances and expenses, and preparing settlement documents for attorney review.
- Collaborating with other team members to achieve office and departmental goals, and providing backup support as needed.
- Training, mentoring, and guiding less experienced team members when appropriate or requested.
Education and Experience Information:
Experience:
- 5 plus years of prior litigation experience is required.
Preferred (not required):
- Bachelor's degree.
- Personal injury litigation experience.
- Paralegal degree and/or certification.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of litigation case management, practices, and procedures.
- Exceptional client advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in case management and other relevant software.
- Ability to utilize and manage internal and external resources appropriately.
Salary Information:
The pay range for the Senior Litigation Paralegal position is to per hour.
