Job Title: Medical Records Clerk - Law Firm
Job Responsibilities:
The Medical Records Clerk at the law firm is responsible for managing and organizing medical records and related documentation to support the defense team. Key responsibilities include:
- Requesting and uploading medical records, bills, and imaging from medical providers such as hospitals, medical and dental providers, and other necessary facilities.
- Requesting additional records from employers, educational facilities, etc., as directed by attorneys.
- Maintaining an accurate log of all requests made, tracking their status, and providing updates from providers, as well as communicating when records are received.
- Scanning, downloading, indexing, and maintaining medical records in case files using PerfectLaw.
- Partnering with attorneys to drive and organize follow-up actions when requests are not received in a timely manner.
- Managing docket compliance and additional dates on the team’s calendar.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate for the Medical Records Clerk position should have:
- A minimum of 1 year of professional office experience, which is preferred.
- Prior medical experience is preferred.
- Experience working with third-party services to request records, such as Veritext, US Legal, etc., is preferred.
Salary Information:
