Job Responsibilities:
As a Summer Associate at the law firm, you will be immersed in a comprehensive internship program designed to provide practical experience in family law. The responsibilities include:
- Drafting and analyzing legal documents related to active family law cases.
- Conducting legal research and assisting in the preparation of trial materials.
- Attending court proceedings alongside experienced attorneys.
- Participating in client meetings to gain insights into case strategies.
- Collaborating closely with a Litigation Partner to develop a foundational understanding of family law practice.
- Engaging in firm-sponsored networking and social events.
- Supporting matters in the Bethesda and Frederick, MD offices, which may require occasional commutes.
- Performing other tasks as needed to help effectively run the business.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Summer Associate position should meet the following educational and experience criteria:
- Current 2L student (2027 graduate) in good standing at an accredited law school.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in family law.
- A GPA of or higher.
- Ability to relocate or reside in the assigned office location for the duration of the program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Salary Information:
This is a paid internship offering a rate of $35 per hour. The role does not include additional rewards such as merit increases or bonuses, nor is it eligible for the full-time benefits package.
