Job Title: Multifamily Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Multifamily Paralegal plays a vital role within the Multifamily Housing Finance Group at the law firm. This group focuses on representing lenders in the multifamily housing industry, particularly in closing loans secured by multifamily projects and delivering those loans to secondary market investors. The key responsibilities of the paralegal include:

- Conducting title and survey review and analysis for commercial real estate loans, including those involving Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
- Maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of commercial real estate lending guidelines.
- Performing paralegal duties and responsibilities as directed by the group leader and other attorneys.
- Monitoring and ensuring loan closing deadlines are met.
- Performing all assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines governing the practice of law.
- Maintaining the firm’s official file using the document management system.
- Tracking and recording client-billable time to meet minimum billable hour requirements.
- Prioritizing daily work and communicating any inability to meet responsibilities.
- Receiving and following complex instructions with sound judgment and discretion.
- Providing quality client service to both internal and external clients and building strong relationships.
- Daily tracking and recording of both billable and non-billable work.

The role requires a multifaceted skill set, including:

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing a large workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills within and across the Multifamily Housing practice group to facilitate efficient legal service delivery.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Adaptability to changing assignments and priorities with readiness.
- Initiative in completing routine assignments with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work overtime when necessary or requested.
- Consistently exhibiting a high degree of professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:
The position requires:

- A Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience with commercial real estate transactions, specifically title and survey review and analysis, at either a law firm or title company.
- Experience with commercial title and survey, particularly American Land Title Association (ALTA)/NSPS.
- Preferred experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Salary Information:
The hiring salary range for the Multifamily Paralegal position is $85, to $105,. Compensation is dependent on several factors, such as position, location, education, training, and/or experience.
