Job Title: Client Account Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The Client Account Specialist (CAS) at the law firm is primarily responsible for the comprehensive management of the billing and collections cycle for designated portfolios of client matters. Key responsibilities include:

- Complete ownership of billing and collections processes, ensuring compliance with attorney and client specifications.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with attorneys, business services personnel, and clients.
- Managing all billing and collections processes from engagement to collections with tact, diplomacy, and effective negotiation skills.
- Reviewing rates for accuracy, ensuring alignment with clients' outside counsel guidelines, and monitoring fee caps, tier discounts, accruals, and matter budgets.
- Managing the proforma to final bill process, ensuring timely submission and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborating with the eBilling Team for new client and matter eBilling set-ups, and with the Client Maintenance Team for updating client billing guidelines.
- Submitting invoices electronically, taking accountability for successful submission and troubleshooting issues.
- Communicating directly with clients regarding eBilling collections and special billing or collection arrangements.
- Responding to inquiries related to accruals, billing, and payment information, and preparing ad hoc reports upon request.
- Preparing effective monthly billing and collections forecasts for assigned portfolios.
- Maintaining updated proforma status reports and ensuring the system reflects current statuses.
- Establishing effective back-up support processes to ensure seamless support for all portfolio matters.
- Participating in continuous improvement of processes and offering constructive recommendations and solutions.
- Encouraged participation in the firm's Responsible Business program.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires:

- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- At least three years of specialized experience in billing, eBilling, collections, or account management.
- Hands-on experience performing complex accounting analysis.
- A background in law firm or professional services is preferred.

- Ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, business services employees, and peers.
- Strong organizational and management skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience working independently and within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic understanding of eBilling vendors.
- Basic math skills for billing and reporting tasks.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to focus attention on tasks and use reasoning to reach conclusions.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Client Account Specialist position varies by location:

- Washington, DC: $61,000 to $69,000 annually.
- Colorado Springs, CO: $62,000 to $85,000 annually.
- Denver, CO: $63,000 to $87,000 annually.

These ranges are dependent on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Working Hours:
Core hours for the position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 . to 5:30 ., including a lunch hour. Candidates must be flexible to work overtime, including weekends, to complete assignments. There is limited time off in December and January, except for firm holidays.
