## Job Description
**Members Only** is looking for a motivated, self-starter for our Baton Rouge office to take the role of Legal Assistant. Our Legal Assistants handle personal injury cases and first-party property damage claims from inception to resolution.
## Key Responsibilities
* Opening new client files
* Opening and reporting claims to insurance companies
* Placing lien holders on notice
* Drafting representation letters
* Obtaining police reports
* Ordering medical records/bills
* Assisting clients with scheduling medical treatment
* Assisting clients with property damage claims
* Frequently communicating with clients
* Maintaining and updating our case management software
* Drafting some legal documents (propound/respond to discovery, prepare deposition notices, schedule depositions, and issue subpoenas)

The offered pay to a successful candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the industry, education, etc.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a legal assistant, be familiar with the law, legal procedures and protocols, and the court system, and know the basics of the day-to-day operations of a law office. They must have secretarial and organizational skills and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously effectively.
