The San Francisco office of this mid-size firm is engaged primarily in litigation and general business, although the firm boasts a solid regulatory and administrative law practice and a respectable labor/employment practice. The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work and, overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850 and salaries are approximately 20% below market.
Paralegal - Real Estate The candidate will understand due diligence and its purpose. Conduct basic legal research. Create and maintain email distribution lists, closing checklists and coordinate closings. Prepare signature page packets. Understand transaction documents, their purpose and contractual provisions in contracts. Familiarity with the tax credit industry, federal and state tax law issues and how they impact transactions at a basic level, and debtor/creditor issues. Complete projects within given deadlines. Provide status updates throughout the project. Coordinate projects with direct supervision from attorneys and senior paralegals on most matters. Stay current with basic concepts and continue education efforts. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree is required. Work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Should have 4-6 years of paralegal experience. Paralegal certificate is preferred.
