Job Title: Liability Associate Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Compile and draft legal documents for attorney review, including routine documents, discovery responses, affidavits, and other legal documents.
- Prepare initial pleadings and filings.
- Prepare exhibits and demonstrative evidence.
- Coordinate requests among multiple parties involved in litigation.
- Subpoena records and conduct preliminary legal research.
- Assist attorneys during trials as needed.
- Capture time and record billable hours in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Review incoming mail to determine urgency and work with attorneys to draft and handle correspondence and emails.
- Act as a liaison with experts and witnesses for scheduling appearances/depositions and retrieving documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, medical examinations, and court hearings; retain court reporters and interpreters if necessary.
- Maintain attorney calendar and manage diary and tickler dates; review calendar daily and proactively handle upcoming events.
- Input and maintain information in the case management system ensuring data integrity.
- Assist with various projects as requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Paralegal or litigation/claim experience preferred.
- Insurance-related experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF Software.
- Advanced interpersonal skills for communication with court personnel, clients, and vendors.
- Advanced grammar and writing skills.
- Basic knowledge of general law office procedures and local court/jurisdiction rules.
- Highly proficient in case management systems and software applications.
- Ability to learn proprietary software systems.
- Ability to identify urgency and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic research and analytical skills.
- Paralegal Certification from an ABA-Certified program.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year's experience as a paralegal or related work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree, or a Paralegal Certification from an ABA-Certified program required.
Salary Information:
- The annual base salary range is $59, – $97,, determined by factors such as role scope, complexity, location, candidate skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
