Law firm **Members Only** is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Legal Support Services (LSS) department. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Legal Assistant or in a law firm or office environment, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies or a related field. Advanced skills in MS Office Products are required, as well as familiarity with e-filing in state and federal courts. The chosen candidate will also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clerical support to multiple attorneys, paralegals, and staff in various practice areas.
Create and edit complex documents, enter attorney time, convert documents from PDF to Word, proofread, and transcribe.
Organize and execute mailings.
Cover for planned and unplanned staff absences and general office overflow on a daily basis.
Adapt to and learn new technology, software programs, and upgrades.
Communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional, calm, and courteous manner.
Work in a team-oriented service environment and provide excellent service.
Problem solve and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Demonstrate a willingness to assist others and take on additional responsibilities when needed.
Be available for overtime and occasional Saturday shifts.
Requirements:
1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a law firm or office environment.
Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies or a related field preferred.
Advanced skills in MS Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
Proficiency with Power Point, Adobe, iManage or other document management system, and Docket Enterprise preferred.
Familiarity with e-filing in state and federal courts.
Typing speed of 60+ wpm with a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent grammar, proofreading, transcription, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional and courteous manner.
Willingness to work in a team-oriented service environment and provide exceptional service.
Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Desire to assist others and take on additional responsibilities when needed.
Availability for overtime and occasional Saturday shifts.
