Job Description:

As an Assistant District Attorney in the Special Investigations Bureau, you will be responsible for conducting long-term investigations into violent gangs, narcotics trafficking, fatal overdoses, non-fatal shootings, and enterprise corruption. This includes reviewing all evidence collected through court-authorized eavesdropping and liaising with law enforcement partners and managers to make informed decisions that will progress the investigation. You will also be required to draft wiretap, electronic data, pen register, cell site/gps, and search warrant applications, and analyze the content of Cellebrite extractions and other electronic evidence. Additionally, you will be responsible for prosecuting cases that arise from these investigations and overseeing work performed by analysts, law enforcement partners, and wire monitors.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct long-term investigations into violent gangs, narcotics trafficking, fatal overdoses, non-fatal shootings, and enterprise corruption
- Review evidence collected through court-authorized eavesdropping
- Liaise with law enforcement partners and managers to make informed decisions
- Draft wiretap, electronic data, pen register, cell site/gps, and search warrant applications
- Analyze content of Cellebrite extractions and other electronic evidence
- Prosecute cases arising from investigations
- Oversee work performed by analysts, law enforcement partners, and wire monitors
- Communicate best practices, areas of improvement, and investigative goals and results to team members
- Meet strict deadlines and produce high-quality work product
- Adhere to strict requirements for legal records management, data protection, and privacy/confidentiality
- Knowledge of NYS courts and the criminal justice system

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate degree and admission to New York State Bar in Good Standing
- US Citizenship and New York State residency required
- 3+ years experience in long-term criminal investigations with significant drafting requirements
- Experience with wiretaps, electronic data, pen registers, and gps data
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, time management, writing, and communication skills
- Quick learner with new technology tools and software
- Experience with Cellebrite, Photoshop, ArcGIS, i2 Analyst Notebook, Palantir, etc. a plus
- Proficiency in multiple languages, especially Spanish, preferred
