Job Summary:
The **Members Only** is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as a Deputy Bureau Chief in the Crime Strategies Bureau. This position plays a crucial role in implementing the intelligence-driven prosecution model and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies and community partners. The Deputy Bureau Chief will work closely with the Bureau Chief to develop and implement policies and practices, as well as supervise and train Assistant District Attorneys and Intelligence Analysts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train Assistant District Attorneys and Intelligence Analysts in the Bureau, focusing on priority defendant prosecutions and providing case support.
- Direct the training, maintenance, and management of a large repository of information pertaining to priority defendants and incidents of violence.
- Collaborate closely with the Bureau Chief to develop and implement policy and practices concerning intelligence management, bureau administration, and law enforcement relations.
- Forge and maintain strong working relationships with law enforcement agencies and community partners.
- Support the Bureau's prevention and re-entry strategies.
- Understand and respond clearly and effectively (oral/written) to complex legal issues.
- Work cooperatively with a large and diverse staff.
- Perform other duties as required to support the work of the Crime Strategies Bureau and the Office at large.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree and significant criminal law experience.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- US Citizenship and New York State Residence are required.
- Strong knowledge of, and experience with, the New York State Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law.
- Prior criminal investigative background.
- Excellent people skills and demeanor.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Member in good standing of the NY State Bar, evidenced by provision of an original current certificate of good standing.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and strong ethics.
- Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
