Job Title: Legal Support Services Supervisor
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day workflow and provide comprehensive administrative support to the divisions.
- Supervise a team of legal administrative and practice group assistants by training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counseling employees.
- Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and evaluate performance.
- Coordinate delivery of performance management feedback with the Senior Manager and assist the Legal Support Services (LSS) team in goal setting and the self-evaluation process.
- Manage daily attendance and staff leave request process.
- Ensure team members adhere to all legal firm policies and procedures and resolve concerns expeditiously.
- Partner with the Senior Manager on strategic planning and change management projects, including research, concept design, execution, and evaluation.
- Manage various projects in support of staff management and division administration.
- Manage Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) assignments and staff/attorney ratios, coordinate daily staffing, scheduling, workflow, and backup/overflow support, manage staff overtime utilization, and ensure available resources are being utilized.
- Maintain various spreadsheets, databases, and reports on behalf of the Senior Manager, providing updated information as requested by various levels of management.
- Clearly communicate with attorneys, administrative staff, and other departments on assigned projects, initiatives, and issues.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience, preferably within a law firm.
- Two years of experience in a team lead/mentor or supervisory role overseeing the work and performance of staff.
- Strong focus on client service and responsiveness; ability to work in a consultative manner.
- Ability to lead and support a team by overseeing daily operations, setting clear expectations, and providing guidance to ensure team performance and growth.
- Familiarity with general business policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Advanced level technical skills within Microsoft Office suite; intermediate/advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
- Familiarity with document management systems.
- Ability to proactively anticipate challenges and identify effective solutions while considering diverse perspectives.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Prior exposure to organizational change and its impact on employees, supporting positive outcomes and familiarity with change management processes.
Salary Information:
Pay Range for Candidates in Baltimore, MD: $90,000 - $110,000 per year
- The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that the law firm, in good faith, believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position.
- Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
