Paralegal The candidate will support attorneys in Litigation department. This position will be responsible for managing a caseload of 75-100 cases spanning a variety of legal fields, including (without limitation) general civil litigation, family law, and commercial litigation. Will support multiple attorneys with calendaring/docketing, e filings, and maintaining and organizing pleadings and transactional files. Track all active and potential new client matter including: track deadlines, assigned tasks, attorney/staff member assigned to each case and maintain client new case files, including: coordinate conflict of interest checks, tracking potential new clients and preparing case initiation documentation. Maintain a structured tickling system and case management procedure. Schedule all appointments including all hearing dates, mediations, telephone conferences, and client meetings. Serve as a point of contact for the attorneys, clients and other personnel concerning the cases. Read, sort, date and appropriately route incoming mail as well as properly route outgoing mail and coordinate items to be delivered. Document and input attorney billable time as well as review, edit, and finalize all client invoices. Document preparation including bates stamping, redacting, hyper links and creating pleading files. Other duties as assigned. Graduation from high school or its equivalent and 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant required. 3-5 years experience with case management in family law and/or commercial litigation required. Federal court experience preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of court procedures, legal documents, and court rules required. Comprehensive knowledge of the organization, functions, responsibility and procedures of a law practice required. Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and perform a high level of case management required. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, orally and in writing required. Strong Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel skills. Knowledge of formatting memos, letters, and using templates required.
