Job Title: Trademark Docket Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The Trademark Docket Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the trademark portfolio management practice within the Trademark and Copyright practice group at the law firm. The specialist is responsible for:
- Monitoring, reviewing, and extracting information from trademark offices, local counsel, staff, and clients globally for entry into the docketing database.
- Identifying and communicating pertinent deadlines to lawyers and paralegals on a daily basis.
- Collaborating with attorneys and paralegals to ensure all deadlines are met by assessing correspondence and proof of filings.
- Programming, running, printing, and distributing docket reports to attorneys and staff.
- Assisting with the intake of new trademark portfolios.
Education and Experience:
Candidates for the Trademark Docket Specialist position should meet the following education and experience requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with post-high school education and experience with CPI preferred.
- A minimum of two years of trademark docketing experience is necessary.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
- Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail are required.
- Candidates should possess strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize work effectively.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential, alongside a self-starter attitude and professional demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals with differing opinions and diverse personalities are necessary.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, familiarity with using a CRM system, and the ability to adapt to new software programs are required.
- A team-oriented attitude is essential for success in this role.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Trademark Docket Specialist varies based on location and other factors. The salary ranges are as follows:
- New York, NY; Silicon Valley, CA; and San Francisco, CA: $67,400 - $107,825.
- Orange County, CA and Seattle, WA: $64,700 - $103,475.
- Chicago, IL: $59,300 - $94,850.
- Washington, .: $62,000 - $99,200.
The base salary wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position will also include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in law firm-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance plans, and health savings and flexible spending accounts for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may utilize the Employee Assistance Program, Work/Life Services, HealthAdvocate, Bright Horizons Back-Up Child Care, and WageWorks Commuter Benefits for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 9 paid holidays per calendar year, 2 personal days per year, and up to 20 days of vacation per year. In accordance with state applicable law, eligible employees will earn 1 paid sick leave hour for 30 hours worked. Eligible employees may also take up to five days off for bereavement leave, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave per year, and up to 10 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave per pregnancy. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position," and the law firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
