Job Summary:

As a STS Tax Credits & Incentives Senior Associate at BDO, you will play a crucial role in identifying and supporting tax credits and incentives for our clients. With your educational background, communication skills, and organizational abilities, you will work with senior STS professionals to prepare project workplans and budgets, interview clients, and prepare reports summarizing available tax benefits. You will also have the opportunity to train and mentor STS BIG Interns, Associates, and other Senior Associates.

Job Duties:

Tax Consulting

- Develop long-term, mutually beneficial client relationships
- Provide premier-quality services to clients using our standard business practices and technologies
- Lead or participate in interviews with client personnel to identify and document qualifying activities and costs
- Prepare or review calculations, cost schedules, and supporting documentation
- Complete tasks efficiently and effectively, meeting due dates proactively
- Prepare or review final client deliverables summarizing our analysis and results
- Research potential new clients and stay up-to-date on relevant tax laws and strategies
- Comply with industry standards and BDO policies

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Train and mentor STS BIG Interns, Associates, and other Senior Associates

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree, required

Experience:

- Two (2) or more years of experience in accounting, tax, or finance (including internships), required
- Prior experience in research and development and/or other tax consulting roles (., accounting methods, 263A, FDII), preferred
- Experience in preparing/reviewing tax provisions, corporate taxation, consolidations, and partnerships, preferred

License/Certifications:

- Currently holds or working towards Certified Public Accountant license, Enrolled Agent certification, or Juris Doctorate degree, preferred

Software:

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word, preferred

- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of BDO
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment with a focus on superior customer service

- Strong initiative, drive to lead, and desire and ability to enhance and grow the STS practice
- Building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement

Salary Information:

- Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined after consideration of numerous factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
- National Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- Washington DC Range: $73,500 - $131,250
