Job Title: Engagement Consultation Manager
Job Responsibilities:
As a Manager in the Engagement Consultation team within the department, your primary responsibility is to navigate the complexities of regulatory compliance, specifically focusing on auditor independence rules and their implications on the professional services environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with Partners, Principals, Managing Directors (PPMDs), and Senior Managers both within the department and across the company's service lines.
- Engaging with leadership figures such as Lead Client Service Partners and Professional Practice Directors to provide guidance on engagement-related independence matters, including services and relationships with clients, both domestic and international.
- Addressing issues arising from client mergers, acquisitions, or IPOs, and reviewing client corporate or investment structures to identify affiliates as per independence rules.
- Conducting research and analysis, drafting conclusions and communications, and strategizing on subsequent steps in collaboration with senior team members.
- Enhancing understanding of AICPA, SEC, and PCAOB independence rules, as well as company US Independence policies.
- Interpreting and implementing regulations related to permissible non-attest services for company US entities, and advising client-facing teams accordingly.
- Participating in policy setting by researching and drafting communications to increase awareness and understanding of independence rules.
- Creating and revising training courses and materials to address rule changes and new interpretations identified during consultations with regulators.
- Working on special projects, both independently and collaboratively with PPMDs and engagement teams, involving senior members for input as necessary.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in fields such as accounting, finance, business, compliance, or legal.
- 5 to 8+ years of related experience, ideally in a professional services role and environment.
- Proficiency in standard office productivity tools like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
- Ability to travel 0-10% on average, based on the work and clients served.
Preferred:
- Understanding of Independence requirements for professional auditing firms.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and/or analysis and interpretation of rules, regulations, and standards.
- Experience in public accounting.
- Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP standards.
- . CPA and/or advanced degree in related areas such as finance, accounting, business, or law.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate, not adjusted for geographic differences, is between $114,600 and $191,000. Typically, new hires are not placed at the top of the range, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Additionally, there may be eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules, where awards depend on factors such as individual and organizational performance.
