Job Title: Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake interviews with new clients and perform comprehensive evaluations to determine the status and needs of each case.
- Actively review cases in pre-litigation, ensuring that all necessary medical records are received and investigations are complete.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, and staff members to facilitate case progress.
- Evaluate cases to determine the potential for resolution and the need for litigation.
- Brief and advise managing attorneys on case postures and potential outcomes.
- Draft pleadings, discovery documents, and motions as required.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
Education and Experience Information:
- A bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in law is required, with experience in personal injury practice highly desired.
- Familiarity with civil procedure in Virginia, Maryland, and/or the District of Columbia is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Bilingual candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish.
Salary Information:
- Base salary ranges from $44,000 to $60,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Additional compensation includes reachable monthly performance bonuses and participation bonuses for business brought to the firm.
- Bilingual candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish will receive a translation bonus of $2,000, paid in two installments.
