Job Title: Senior Healthcare Practice Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Healthcare Practice Manager will work closely with the Healthcare Team Co-Leaders to develop and implement business, operational, and strategic initiatives for the broader team. Responsibilities include developing and implementing business and strategic plans, facilitating knowledge sharing across the team, conducting data analytics, providing day-to-day support for meetings and presentations, and assisting with onboarding new attorneys. The role involves collaboration with various departments to enhance service delivery through innovative technology, supporting marketing and business development initiatives, and managing staffing and recruiting priorities.
Practice Management:
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team leadership to drive strategic initiatives and develop the team’s annual business plan.
- Align goals and strategies of various sub-sector groups with broader team objectives.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing between teams.
- Provide insightful reporting on team financial performance to help identify trends and propose solutions.
- Organize and manage practice team meetings and drive forward post-meeting action items.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for the broader Healthcare Team, providing guidance and support with staffing, workflow, budgets, and project management.
Knowledge Management, Innovation, and Technology:
- Collaborate with Knowledge Management, Innovation, and Information Technology teams to improve efficiency and enhance service delivery.
- Encourage participation in experience and intelligence collection and reporting efforts.
- Conduct research and analysis on market trends and industry developments.
- Track and document data to support team initiatives using project management tools.
Marketing & Business Development:
- Collaborate with Marketing/Business Development, Practice Economics, and Pricing teams to support RFPs, pitches, etc.
- Support client acquisition, retention, and expansion programs, and launch new business lines and products.
- Work with the Marketing/Business Development team on a variety of Healthcare marketing initiatives.
Staffing and Recruiting:
- Prepare bi-weekly utilization reports and support staffing needs by monitoring associate workloads.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address workforce needs and identify recruiting priorities.
- Ensure appropriate case work distribution and manage off-boarding/reintegration of secondments, leaves of absence, and alternative work arrangements.
Professional Development:
- Coordinate with team leads on internal CLE programs.
- Assist Talent Management with regular review of mentor/mentee assignments.
- Coordinate with partner and associate advisors and mentors to discuss skillsets and interests of attorneys.
Lateral Onboarding and Integration:
- Implement onboarding and integration plans for new attorneys.
- Conduct meetings to discuss firm resources, relevant clients, and group structure.
Education and Experience Information:
Required Qualifications:
- At least 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to translate project management methodology to a legal setting.
- Must be a mature self-starter with sound judgment and strong personnel skills.
- Advanced ability to write about legal and technical topics and proofread related materials accurately.
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Confidence in communicating with all levels of the legal team and clients.
- Ability to problem solve and develop creative answers with pragmatic solutions.
- Demonstrated interest in making legal practice more efficient, innovative, and entrepreneurial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a legal services environment is strongly preferred.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Law Firm Management or Healthcare is a plus.
Computer/Software Knowledge:
- Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn additional software such as Foundation, Iridium, Aderant, SQL, NetDocs, InTapp, etc.
Work Environment:
- The current policy is hybrid, working in the office a minimum of 3 days per week and from home the rest of the week.
- Overtime may be required as job duties demand.
Salary Information:
California: $180,000 to $240,000 per year.
New York: $180,000 to $240,000 per year.
Illinois: $180,000 to $240,000 per year, eligible for bonuses and medical, vision, and dental insurance.
Washington .: $180,000 to $240,000 per year, with medical, vision, and dental coverage available.
