Job Title: Senior Manager, Accounting Methods

Job Responsibilities:

- Research: The Senior Manager is responsible for identifying situations requiring research, confirming the accuracy of facts, preparing studies on tax implications, and composing effective research memos. They also develop presentations for marketing and sales opportunities.

- Tax Compliance: Ensuring client compliance with applicable authorities, minimizing client tax burdens, identifying risks, completing workpapers and tax returns, and communicating with clients and relevant personnel.

- Tax Consulting: The role involves developing solutions for maximum tax benefits, staying informed on developments affecting clients' tax positions, and identifying process improvements.

- Tax Controversy: Representing clients before tax authorities and responding to inquiries from federal and state tax authorities regarding tax accounting methods issues.

- Tax Specialization: Developing an understanding of technical issues related to tax accounting methods and identifying opportunities related to tax specializations other than accounting methods.

- Strategy Development: Developing strategies to advance client and firm positions and suggesting marketing approaches for new client acquisition.

- Marketing and Business Development: Exhibiting thought leadership, working with partners and managers to develop marketing plans, building go-to-market strategies, preparing proposals, and engaging in transfer pricing research and presentations.

- Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervising and reviewing the work of Senior Associates and Associates, ensuring they are well-trained, evaluating performance, providing feedback, and acting as a Career Advisor.

Education and Experience Information:

- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for degrees in Accounting, Tax, or Finance. A Master's degree and Juris Doctorate (.) are preferred.

- Experience: A minimum of seven years of federal tax client service experience is required, along with prior experience supervising tax consulting professionals. Experience with accounting methods, preparing/reviewing tax provisions, and corporate taxation is preferred.

- License/Certifications: A CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) is required.

Salary Information:

- Individual salaries are determined by several factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National, Maryland, NYC/Long Island/Westchester, and Washington DC salary ranges are all from $99,750 to $262,500.
