Job Title: Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer calls from potential new clients, current clients, and the public, providing necessary information and support.
- File legal matters with the court, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- Proofread and edit legal documents, ensuring proper grammar, syntax, and adherence to legal standards.
- Store records in the firm’s system, maintaining organization and confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments and manage deadlines on the firm’s calendar, ensuring efficient time management and workflow.
- Support lawyers and clients in a supportive role, contributing to the overall success of the firm.
- Learn about the legal industry, court operations, and a wide range of legal vocabulary to enhance job performance.
- Participate in online training and regular communication to support personal and professional success within the firm’s hybrid work model.
Education and Experience Information:
- A college education is preferred as it may demonstrate writing skills, including grammar, syntax, and a robust knowledge of Office suite applications.
- Experience in grammar and office suite applications is beneficial.
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role could be advantageous.
