Job Overview:
A reputable law firm with a strong focus on insurance defense and complex commercial litigation is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its First Party Property Insurance Defense team in Sunrise, Florida. This role involves handling a variety of insurance defense litigation matters, offering opportunities to develop and implement legal strategies, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court. The position is ideal for attorneys with 3–5 years of experience in litigation, particularly in first-party property insurance matters.

Location:

  • Sunrise, FL

Duties:

  • Represent insurance clients in legal matters, including lawsuits and disputes

  • Provide legal counsel on business transactions, claims liability, and legal obligations

  • Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, reports, and internal communications

  • Conduct legal research and case investigations through document review, depositions, and client interviews

  • Develop case strategies and arguments based on findings and legal precedents

  • Attend pretrial hearings and advise clients on case developments and strategic next steps

  • Present cases in court, including argument preparation and courtroom advocacy

  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel

  • Advise internal managers on legal risks, policies, and regulatory compliance

  • Perform administrative and case management duties related to litigation practice

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of litigation experience

  • Experience handling first-party property insurance defense cases preferred

  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures and courtroom processes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently and meet billable targets

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida

  • Member in good standing with The Florida Bar

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presentation skills

  • Ability to negotiate effectively and manage client relationships

  • High attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Proficient in legal software and case management systems

  • Capable of handling high-volume caseloads while maintaining quality and accuracy
