Internship Applications for the Fall Session at the New Jersey Division of Law are now open. This is a great opportunity for law students to gain hands-on experience and observe a wide range of lawyering activities. The internship is available during the Fall or Spring Semesters or during Summer breaks. Interested students must submit their application by July 15 for the Fall Session.

Civil Rights Newark

The New Jersey Division of Law offers law students the chance to serve an internship during their academic year. Students will be assigned to one of the Division's sections and will be supervised by a Deputy Attorney General. The overall supervision of the program will be by an Assistant Attorney General.

During the internship, students will have the opportunity to perform a variety of law clerk responsibilities, including research and writing. They will also have the chance to attend court proceedings, meetings with clients, depositions, and other special events. Additionally, they will be eligible to participate in training sessions offered to Deputy Attorneys General throughout the year.

Assignments to specific sections will be based on student interest. Interested students can refer to the section locations for more information on the available sections. To be considered for a position in the program, law students must submit the Internship Application, along with their resume, legal writing sample, and most recent grade report, to the appropriate recruiter listed below.

The Division conducts interviews and extends offers for positions in the program on a rolling basis. So, it is advisable for students to apply as soon as possible.
