Job Title: Student Intern - Division of Law
Job Responsibilities:
- Interns will be assigned to a specific section within the Division of Law, allowing them to specialize in areas such as education law, civil rights litigation, complex financial transactions, or child protection proceedings.
- Perform the full range of law clerk responsibilities, including conducting legal research and drafting legal documents.
- Observe and participate in various lawyering activities, including court proceedings, client meetings, depositions, and other special events.
- Interns are eligible to participate in training sessions offered to Deputy Attorneys General throughout the year.
Education and Experience Information:
- The internship is available to law students only.
- Students must be enrolled in a law program and have an interest in gaining practical experience in the legal field.
Salary Information:
- The internship is unpaid.
Additional Information:
- The internship is available during the summer break, fall semester, and spring semester.
- Law students may apply to work in one of 11 sections based in Newark, 14 sections based in Trenton, or 1 in Voorhees.
- Application deadline for the summer program is March 5.
