SENIOR PRICING ANALYST

JOB TITLE: Senior Pricing Analyst

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Pricing Analyst at the law firm is responsible for a range of tasks that support the pricing team and the firm’s strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing counsel and support to lawyers and other firm personnel in developing pricing proposals, matter budgets, and profitability efforts, and leading matter pricing efforts when required.
- Supporting the Pricing and Legal Project Management teams in internal and client-facing reporting, which involves ongoing reporting-improvement initiatives and collaboration with the financial reporting and analysis team.
- Analyzing historical and current data to support the development of pricing proposals and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), and leading RFP responses when required.
- Offering market insight, competitive intelligence, and innovative thinking on pricing strategies.
- Acting as a supplementary stakeholder and subject matter expert on the firm’s business intelligence software to provide strategic analytics relating to pricing and project management.
- Serving as a supplementary administrator of the firm’s matter management technology.
- Assessing and analyzing internal data and converting findings into actionable reports to establish or affirm firm priorities.
- Improving data integrity to drive effective decision-making.
- Collaborating with the Client Growth team on client pitches, proposals, and RFP responses to competitively price legal work based on best practices.
- Assisting with the enhancement and development of budgeting templates and other tools for use by firm attorneys and legal operations personnel.
- Producing metrics for internal and external reporting provided to the legal operations department and firm leadership, including data extraction from the firm’s financial databases and contributing new meaningful metrics, especially at a portfolio level.
- Utilizing data visualization tools such as Power BI to empower leadership to make efficient and effective decisions.
- Providing support in response to ad-hoc requests from firm attorneys and leadership.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE INFORMATION:
- A Bachelor’s degree, which provides knowledge of statistical, financial, and accounting principles, is required.
- Related experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services organization, is preferred.
- The candidate must have superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce and present succinct reports, analyses, proposals, recommendations, and demonstrations to firm stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary, with expert fluency in Excel required (pivot tables, vlookups, macros, embedded formulas, etc.).
- The candidate must be proactive with strong time management and organizational skills, capable of coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing workload accordingly.
- A self-motivated person with a positive and professional attitude is required.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills are necessary, along with the ability to effectively communicate findings to attorneys and firm management clearly and concisely.
- The candidate must possess a demonstrated understanding of both the practice and the business of law and independently identify new areas of opportunity to help solve business challenges.
- Demonstrated experience managing hourly and alternative fee arrangements is required.
