Are you an experienced attorney looking to take your immigration practice to the next level? Our prestigious law firm is seeking an Immigration Associate to join our team in multiple locations across the country. With a minimum of 4-6 years' experience, this position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-value immigration matters while collaborating with attorneys at all levels within our Labor, Employment, Benefits, & Immigration Section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling a diverse caseload of immigration matters including non-immigrant visa applications, employment-based and family-based green card processes, naturalization applications, waivers of inadmissibility, and I-9 compliance.
- Conducting legal research to provide accurate advice to clients on immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
- Collaborating with other attorneys, shareholders, paralegals, and administrative personnel on complex immigration matters.
- Drafting legal documents such as forms, letters, petition packages, and correspondence for various types of immigration cases.
- Taking ownership of cases from beginning to end with limited supervision and utilizing proficiency in case processing.
- Contributing to case strategy and analysis through creativity, innovative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Representing clients in interviews and other immigration proceedings.
- Staying updated on changes in immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice to clients.
- Assisting in business development efforts, client consultations, and networking activities to grow the immigration practice.
- Participating in training programs, seminars, and professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
- Upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality throughout all interactions and transactions.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of time spent on each project.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4-6 years' experience in immigration law with a focus on employment-based immigration and labor and employment experience.
- Strong academic credentials and research skills.
- Excellent knowledge of immigration law and practice.
- Admission to the bar in at least one state.
- Ability to handle a diverse caseload and take ownership of cases with limited supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with H-1B, O-1, P-1, E-2, L-1A/B, NIW, EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, J-1 waiver, Labor Certification/PERM cases, RFE, NOID and Audit responses, and other complex immigration projects is preferred.
