Job Title:
Assistant General Counsel - VP - Government Relations and Public Policy Legal

Job Responsibilities:
In the role of Assistant General Counsel, VP at the company, the candidate will be responsible for a variety of critical legal and strategic functions. The primary responsibilities include:
- Leading or participating in complex initiatives and deliverables, contributing to large-scale planning within the company.
- Handling matters that significantly impact the company's operations, strategies, or profitability.
- Providing legal advice for the management of the company and its subsidiaries.
- Serving as a legal advisor to various business and enterprise functions within the company.
- Reviewing and analyzing complex, large-scale, or long-term challenges, requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangible or unprecedented factors.
- Drafting complex legal documents, and reviewing and negotiating documents prepared by outside counsel.
- Identifying and analyzing complex legal issues, developing conclusions, and making recommendations for issue resolution.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with partners across the Legal Department and the company to influence timely advocacy of new and proposed legal or regulatory obligations.
- Providing substantive legal advice on matters for more experienced management of the Corporation.
- Developing and leading the implementation of strategic business initiatives, leading work teams to meet deliverables, and driving new initiatives.
- Educating, training, and supervising less experienced attorneys within the Legal department.
- Collaborating strategically with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Leading projects, teams, or serving as a peer mentor.
- Developing relationships with and providing guidance to more experienced leadership, including executive officers, on issues that may present legal, regulatory, compliance, or reputational risk to the company.
- Partnering with business leaders and management of other corporate departments to develop and implement risk management programs.

Education and Experience Information:
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of law experience, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States.

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in political law, including topics related to PACs, corporate political activities, trade association political activities, employee political activities, pay-to-play requirements at federal, state, and local levels, lobbying laws, and gifts and entertainment.
- Familiarity with enterprise risk management frameworks and functions, and regulatory expectations for risk management at large banks and financial holding companies.
- Ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in the area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters.
- Strong independent thinking and ability to provide credible challenges.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.

Salary Information:
The base pay range offered for this position is between $144, and $300,. Pay may vary depending on factors such as achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
