Job Title: Legal Secretary/Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The role is a hybrid position that combines the duties of both a Legal Secretary and a Paralegal, primarily supporting a Senior Partner in the practice areas of health care litigation, commercial litigation, and casualty defense. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Filing pleadings with both state and federal courts.
- Transcribing dictation from the Senior Partner and other attorneys as necessary.
- Scheduling meetings and depositions, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared.
- Familiarity with and usage of billing programs to manage and track billable hours efficiently.
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure a cooperative and collaborative work environment.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must have experience relevant to the responsibilities outlined above. This includes:
- Proven experience in a legal secretary or paralegal role, preferably in the fields of health care litigation, commercial litigation, or casualty defense.
- Proficiency with technology, particularly in legal filing systems and billing software.
- Experience with transcribing legal dictation and managing legal documentation.
Salary Information:
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 per year, commensurate with the candidate's experience. Additional compensation in the form of bonuses may also be available.
