Job Responsibilities
The Labor & Employment Associate Attorney will join the Labor & Employment Practice at a law firm and will be involved in a wide range of employment law matters. The primary responsibilities include:
- Handling single plaintiff employment claims as well as PAGA, Wage & Hour, and FEHA matters.
- Engaging in employment litigation, primarily on the management side.
- Providing employment counseling and possibly working on in-house employment law issues.
- Maintaining extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel.
- Drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings.
- Drafting and arguing motions.
- Taking and defending depositions.
- Managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
The role is designed for proactive and passionate attorneys who are keen to assume a high-level role within a sophisticated practice. The attorney will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team, providing legal services across various jurisdictions.
Education and Experience Information
- Candidates must be admitted to practice law in California.
- A minimum of one (1) to seven (7) years of experience in employment law matters is required.
- Prior employment litigation experience is necessary, preferably on the management side.
- Experience handling single plaintiff employment claims, PAGA, Wage & Hour, and FEHA matters is essential.
- Employment counseling or in-house employment law experience is preferred.
- Strong writing and analytical skills are required.
- The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
The law firm is open to working with developing attorneys who have excellent skills in any litigation arena, provided they have substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law.
Salary Information
- Minimum Salary: USD $145, per year
- Maximum Salary: USD $200, per year
