Job Title: Paralegal (Bilingual)
Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal at the law firm will play a crucial role in supporting the legal team, particularly in personal injury cases. Responsibilities include conducting intake interviews with new clients, performing comprehensive evaluations of cases, and ensuring that all necessary medical records and investigations are complete. The Paralegal will communicate effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, and other staff members to manage the pre-litigation process. They will evaluate cases to determine the potential for resolution or the need for litigation, and brief managing attorneys on case postures and outcomes. Drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions are also essential duties, along with performing administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
Education and Experience Information:
While a bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is preferred, it is not required for this position. However, candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in law, with experience in personal injury practice being highly desired. Familiarity with civil procedure in Virginia, Maryland, and/or the District of Columbia is important. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to build rapport with clients. Bilingual candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish to qualify for the translation bonus.
Salary Information:
The base salary for the Paralegal position ranges from $46,000 to $60,000, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Additional compensation includes reachable monthly performance bonuses and participation bonuses for business brought to the firm. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish will receive a translation bonus of $1,500, paid in two installments: after 30 days and after six months.
