Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Lead Counsel I is tasked with providing legal counsel and support to the Residential Mortgage trading and securitization business within the company. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising the business on relevant legal and market developments and company policies.
- Partnering with the business in recommending, developing, and executing business plans.
- Leading transactional negotiations to facilitate business objectives.
- Collaborating closely with control function partners and internal review committees to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Senior Lead Counsel I position should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial services.
- Experience in the banking or financial industry, with knowledge of laws related to banking regulations.
- Familiarity with international laws, regulations, and practices, along with staying updated on regulatory and legal environments, internal policies, and industry trends impacting the business.
- Demonstrated experience with complex deals and the ability to analyze issues and develop legal solutions.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to apply sound judgment while managing assignments in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- A Bar license in good standing to practice law.
- A Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree is required.
Salary Information:
The primary location for this full-time position is New York, New York, United States. The salary range for the Senior Lead Counsel I position is between $211, and $316,. In addition to the salary, the company’s offerings may include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
