Job Title: Tax Counsel - Employee Benefits

Job Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement planning strategies that align with business objectives through collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Stay updated on employee benefit and compensation laws, policies, regulations, and industry trends.
- Provide legal advice, including tax advice, to internal clients in all areas of employee benefit and compensation law, with a primary focus on . employee welfare benefits such as medical, disability, life insurance, and cafeteria plans, as well as fringe benefits.
- Collaborate with other Compensation and Benefits attorneys and advisors to support retirement and executive compensation plans.
- Advise on all aspects of benefit-plan related processes, including design, administration, income taxation, claims and appeals, and litigation support.
- Proactively analyze legal trends to make policy/design or tax-planning recommendations.
- Understand the role of Company-sponsored benefit plans in supporting a global, world-class business.
- Advise on limited international benefits issues.
- Draft and negotiate contract terms with third-party administrators.
- Distill recent legislation and regulations into practical guidance for internal clients.

Education and Experience Information:

- . from an accredited law school.
- Strong college and law school record, with a preference for those in the top 1/3.
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience as an attorney specializing in employee benefits with a law firm, corporation, or agency.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one state.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

- A Tax . is preferred.
- Technical tax and ERISA knowledge as applied to health and welfare benefit plans.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to add value by collaborating effectively with colleagues, clients, and other support functions.
- Willingness to share knowledge to develop the capabilities of the entire team.
