Senior Employment & Corporate Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Employment & Corporate Paralegal will support the company's in-house legal team, specifically in employment litigation and corporate legal matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting internal counsel in managing employment litigation, including handling single-plaintiff lawsuits, administrative charges, and pre-litigation disputes.
- Coordinating and managing responses to subpoenas, discovery requests, and legal holds.
- Conducting legal and factual research for jurisdiction-specific regulations.
- Assisting in preparing internal investigation materials, interview summaries, and reports.
- Liaising with HR, compliance, and business teams to gather facts and documentation.
- Maintaining global subsidiary records and minute books, preparing board resolutions, and secretary certificates.
- Coordinating with outside counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Managing and organizing large global projects.
- Preparing reports, summaries, and analyses using internal systems and platforms.
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employment matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Allocating approximately 80% of time on employment and litigation-related legal work and 20% on general corporate legal support, including global subsidiary maintenance.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 7 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on employment or labor litigation, is required. Experience can be from in-house or law firm settings.
- A solid understanding of employment laws and litigation processes is essential.
- Experience with e-discovery tools and litigation and corporate management platforms (., SimpleLegal, Logikcull, Diligent, or similar platforms) is required.
- Excellent drafting, organizational, project management, and communication skills are necessary.
- The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate cross-functionally is important.
- A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment is required.
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or a Paralegal Certificate (preferably ABA-approved) is preferred.
- Prior in-house experience supporting employment counsel is a plus.
- Experience working with a global workforce and supporting compliance or internal investigations is advantageous.
- Being tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems is preferred.
Salary Information:
The company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. The annual compensation range for this role in California is $106,000 - $121,200. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, there may be eligibility for other compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a range of benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
