Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
The DevOps Engineer at the law firm is tasked with automating software deployment and testing processes. This role involves coordinating with various teams to ensure the implementation of best practices and the development of configuration tools and scripts. Key responsibilities include:
- Streamlining application and service deployment by automating the building, deploying, and testing of software.
- Planning and executing build, configuration, test, and deployment activities across multiple application development projects within an enterprise setting.
- Coordinating with infrastructure and development teams to integrate best practices and non-functional requirements early in the development lifecycle.
- Developing and managing configuration tools.
- Interfacing with project stakeholders and cross-functional teams such as development, QA, and infrastructure operations.
- Developing utility scripts for deploying and validating new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment, and providing "as built" documentation to production support post-completion.
- Creating and enhancing internal OS deployment tools and processes.
- Utilizing system resource utilization and monitoring tools to identify potential problem areas before they lead to incidents.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or have comparable training and experience. A minimum of 3 years of DevOps system administration experience in a team environment is required.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience with various technologies is essential, including:
- Configuration Management: Octopus Deploy (preferred) or similar.
- Continuous Integration: TeamCity (preferred) or similar.
- Source Control: Git.
- Database Deployments: Microsoft SQL Server, Redgate, or similar.
- Shell Scripting: PowerShell.
- Systems Administration: Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux.
- Programming Languages: # (preferred), JavaScript, or others.
- Experience working in an agile development team environment.
- Ability to configure and deploy within multiple hosting services such as Azure and OnPrem.
- Experience working in a converged infrastructure environment, including knowledge of storage, compute platforms, hypervisors, and network topologies.
- Comfort with frequent, incremental code, testing, and deployment cycles.
- Experience with JIRA and the entire Atlassian suite is preferred.
- Capability to set up continuous delivery using build pipelines and release pipelines.
