Job Title: Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for a wide range of duties to support attorneys specializing in Estate Planning, Guardianships/Conservatorships, Probate/Trust Administration, Residential Real Estate, and Small Business Matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Organizing and managing case files, maintaining records, and tracking deadlines to ensure timely progression of legal matters.
- Preparing and formatting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence accurately, adhering to established formats and legal standards.
- Interacting with clients, scheduling appointments, and communicating case updates to maintain clear and effective communication.
- Managing attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, hearings, and court appearances, and providing timely reminders to ensure attorneys are prepared and punctual.
- Assisting attorneys with Guardianship/Conservatorship cases, including manipulating assets, applying for public benefits, and preparing annual court report filings.
- Handling probate administration from inception to completion, which involves drafting probate filings and preparing fiduciary inventories and accountings.
- Drafting and reviewing estate planning documents such as Powers of Attorney, Advance Medical Directives, Wills, Trusts, Amendments, and Deeds.
- Analyzing bank, investment, and business records to support legal proceedings and decision-making.
- Maintaining critical deadlines for estate and trust administration cases in an electronic calendar system to ensure compliance with legal timelines.
- Drafting Contracts, Agreements, and Letters to support various legal transactions and processes.
- Reconciling bank accounts monthly to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
- Assisting in preparing invoices, tracking expenses, and maintaining billing records to support the financial operations of the law firm.
- Performing various administrative duties, including answering phones, sorting mail, and maintaining office supplies to ensure smooth office operations.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and/or an equivalent combination of legal experience and education. Candidates must have:
- A strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal, written, and proofreading skills to ensure clear and accurate communication.
- The ability to communicate effectively, whether in person, via telephone, e-mail, written correspondence, or other forms of communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex legal issues.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal.
- A long-term commitment to grow with the company, as this is not a short-term employment opportunity or a transitioning position toward a new endeavor.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Paralegal position at the law firm is based on experience:
- For candidates with 2-5 years of work experience as a paralegal, the salary range is $45, - $55, per year.
- For candidates with 5 years of experience currently working as a paralegal, the salary range is $55, - $75, per year.
Benefits:
The position includes benefits such as a Simple IRA retirement plan and paid time off. It is a full-time, in-office position with a schedule of an 8-hour day shift from Monday to Friday. The work location is in person, and it is not a remote or hybrid position. The base pay range provided by the employer is $45K to $75K annually, with a median salary of $60K per year.
