Job Title: Sr. Claims Examiner - General Liability

Job Responsibilities:
- Handle resolution of moderate to high complexity and exposure claims, which may involve disputes requiring mediation or litigation.
- Manage claims from coverage inquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Mitigate indemnity and expense exposure while effectively communicating developments and outcomes to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Exercise increased decision-making responsibility within authority and work with minimal oversight.
- Provide training and serve as a technical referral point for other team members.
- Analyze complex coverage issues and communicate coverage positions.
- Conduct, coordinate, and direct investigations into loss facts and extent of damages.
- Direct and monitor assignments to outside counsel and experts.
- Evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of the insured's exposure.
- Set timely and meaningful reserves within authority or recommend reserve changes to the manager.
- Negotiate and settle claims either directly or indirectly.
- Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.
- Adhere to Fair Claims Practices regulations.
- Participate in special projects and assist other team members as needed.
- Travel to mediations, trials, and conferences as required.

Education and Experience Information:
- Experience handling moderate to high exposure general liability BI and PD claims and/or a legal background as a practicing attorney with litigation or coverage experience is required.
- Experience handling excess/umbrella claims is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement.

Salary Information:
- The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
- The salary for the position is $73,600 - $122,600 with a 15% bonus potential.
