Job Title: Sr. Director, Casualty Claims
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct multiple teams of Directors, Claims Managers, and Examiners responsible for resolving claims within various product line divisions.
- Report to the Managing Director, Casualty Claims and communicate the organization’s objectives and priorities to staff while measuring progress toward stated goals.
- Develop and execute strategies focused on enhancing claim quality and delivering superior customer service.
- Identify significant potential exposure on claims and prepare appropriate alerts for Executive Management and internal business partners.
- Analyze and provide appropriate direction on coverage, strategic direction, and resolution of complex high-exposure claims.
- Foster and encourage strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as Underwriting, Product Lines, and Actuarial departments.
- Review and approve reserves and settlements exceeding the authority of managers or directors.
- Prepare and distribute reports by collecting and summarizing information.
- Participate in senior claims leadership strategy meetings and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal Claims Quality Performance Objectives by the team.
- Promote and enhance strong relationships with customers and channel partners.
- Make recommendations regarding reserve changes to senior management.
- Assist in budget preparation, expense evaluation, and assessment of resource needs.
- Assess and evaluate individual manager, examiner, and team performance, provide feedback, and develop training needs.
- Participate in special projects as requested.
- Travel to other claim offices and conferences as required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- Prior experience with change management and/or reorganization.
- Prior people management or comparable work experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement.
Salary Information:
The base salary for this position ranges from $171,200 to $285,300, with a 55% bonus potential. The salary offered will be based on factors such as job-relevant education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
Additional Information:
- Company offers hybrid working schedules of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
- US Work Authorization is required; the company does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
