Job Title: Senior Manager, Construction Claims

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Construction Claims is responsible for managing a team of Executive Claims Examiners who handle high exposure construction claims related to bodily injury, property damage, and construction defects. This role involves reporting to a Director in the Casualty Construction group and conveying the organization’s objectives and priorities to staff while measuring progress towards stated goals. Key responsibilities include:

- Monitoring and directing new loss assignments for construction claims.
- Confirming claims coverage by reviewing policies and supporting documents.
- Reviewing and approving correspondence, including coverage position letters and Large Loss Reports.
- Assessing and approving reserves and settlements beyond the authority of handling specialists.
- Evaluating individual examiner and team performance, providing feedback, and addressing training needs.
- Making reserve change recommendations to the Director or Senior Management.
- Participating in large loss activity reviews and discussions with stakeholders such as Underwriting, Actuarial, and Executive Management.
- Ensuring adherence to Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal performance objectives.
- Preparing and distributing reports by summarizing collected information.
- Assisting in budget preparation, expense evaluation, and resource needs assessment.
- Fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Underwriting, Actuarial).
- Assisting in identifying industry and coverage trends.
- Promoting strong relationships with customers and channel partners.
- Participating in special projects as requested.
- Traveling to other claim offices, mediations, trials, and conferences as required.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- A JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree is preferred.
- The candidate must have or be eligible to receive a claims adjuster license.
- Insurance certifications or affiliation with an industry group are preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of claims handling experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience managing claims examiners at the Senior Claims Examiner and/or Executive Claims Examiner level is required.

Salary Information:
The base salary for the position ranges from $110,500 to $184,100, with a 30% bonus potential. The salary offered will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.

The company offers hybrid working schedules, allowing employees to work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.
