The **Members Only** is currently seeking a Child Services Attorney to join their team. Role Overview:
- Provides legal guidance and services for DCS central and county offices
- Works closely with family case managers to assess issues and prepare for court hearings
- Represents the state in various legal matters related to child safety
- Handles administrative and court matters
- Requires trial experience and does not encompass billable hours
- Monday-Friday work week, hours per week
A Day in the Life:
Responsibilities include:
- Advising DCS staff on various programs and legal areas
- Drafting and reviewing contracts and correspondence
- Serving as a liaison to the Attorney General on litigation and tort claims matters
- Conducting legal research and writing assignments
- Overseeing contract process for local office attorneys
- Litigating Children in Need of Services and Termination of Parental Rights cases
- Handling administrative matters and hearings
- Delegating to and providing support for legal support staff
- May be required to participate in committees and serve as local counsel for the Indiana Office of Attorney General
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate of Jurisprudence
- Indiana Bar Admission or admission to the bar of any state within the United States
- Strong legal research, writing, and litigation skills
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
