Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant at the law firm will take on a variety of tasks pivotal to the firm's operations and client service. Responsibilities include setting up new client files, managing case records, and assisting with Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims. The role involves ensuring account balances are accurate and maintaining regular communication with clients, healthcare providers, and other involved parties. The legal assistant will handle client correspondence, address inquiries, conduct client reviews, and manage medical bill payments. Additionally, the assistant will support the tracking of related documentation and collaborate with attorneys and the legal team to support daily workflow, client coordination, and case progress. Proactive administrative and organizational support is crucial to ensure cases are managed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant position should possess at least a high school diploma, with advanced education or a paralegal certification being preferred. Experience working as a legal assistant or in a professional office setting is highly desired. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is essential. Prior experience in plaintiffs’ personal injury law is preferred. Candidates should exhibit strong written communication skills, experience in drafting professional correspondence, and comfort in communicating with clients and healthcare providers via phone and email. A detail-oriented approach is necessary, along with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines. Self-motivation, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a team-oriented mindset are also required.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant position is determined using local, national, and industry-specific data. The law firm evaluates external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wages in the marketplace for jobs comparable to those within the firm. The hourly base pay range for a non-exempt Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant in Western Washington is - per hour, and the position is bonus eligible. Compensation will be based on the applicant's location, experience level, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Employees with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
