Job Title:
Tax Manager - Trusts & Estates
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a client base consisting of wealthy individuals, high net-worth individuals with complex investments, succession strategies, and small business clientele.
- Act as the technical reviewer for individual, estate, gift, and trust tax returns, as well as tax research projects, ensuring accuracy in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Supervise tax associates and seniors, contributing to their training and professional growth.
- Prepare advanced estate planning projects tailored to unique client situations.
- Oversee workflow management, including delegating tasks to staff based on their experience and coordinating with senior managers and partners throughout all phases of the engagement.
- Engage proactively in developing new business with current and prospective clients.
- Provide overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff members.
- Review tax working papers to ensure compliance with professional standards and the terms of the engagement letter.
- Review trust documents and prepare a trust summary document to facilitate trust administration.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience.
- At least 3 years of experience servicing high net-worth clients with complex investments and succession planning strategies.
- CPA license.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Taxation or a Law degree.
- Experience with CCH Axcess.
Salary Information:
- New York Salary Range:
- Minimum Salary: $90,200
- Maximum Salary: $154,500
- The salary for this role in New York markets is determined by the individual's experience, education, and skill set. Total compensation and benefits include salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Company reserves the right to adjust the salary range based on business needs.
