Job Title: Litigation Paralegal, Insurance Defense
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal in the Insurance Defense practice group is responsible for providing direct assistance to attorneys throughout all stages of litigation and trial work. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing, collecting, summarizing, and organizing information, data, and evidence for use by attorneys in hearings or trials.
- Preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and interrogatories.
- Assisting lawyers by researching legal precedents, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents.
- Conducting research to support legal proceedings, formulating defenses, causes of action, and initiating legal proceedings.
- Preparing and organizing case research, notes, medical records, legal documents, and client materials.
- Gathering and analyzing research data, including statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents.
- Verifying documents for accuracy, editing, and proofreading legal documents, and researching public and private records.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this position should have:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in drafting complaints, motions, answers, and other pleadings.
- Knowledge of local court rules, legal research, and correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills and a professional presentation.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills.
- Preferred experience in Personal Injury or prior Insurance Defense work.
