Job Title: IP Biotechnology Patent Agent
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in patent counseling with a focus on chemical, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sectors.
- Prepare and prosecute both domestic and international patent applications.
- Draft patent opinions, with a preference for experience in biotechnology or similar technologies.
- Utilize strong legal writing and research skills to support patent processes.
- Communicate effectively through excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must possess a PhD in the biological sciences (such as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics), Chemistry, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of patent counseling experience, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications, is required.
- The candidate must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Strong academic background and previous experience in a law firm environment are necessary.
Salary Information:
- The expected salary range for the position is between $125,000 and $200,000.
- Actual compensation will be based on factors such as education, experience, internal pay equity, and other job-related considerations as allowed by law.
