Job Title: Senior Enterprise Applications and Data Architect
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Enterprise Applications and Data Architect is a key member of the Information Systems Department at the law firm. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining architecture components within the application portfolio and overseeing the governance of associated data. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the road mapping of the application and data portfolio, developing transition plans from current to future solutions.
- Planning, directing, and coordinating the standardization of data across various on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Identifying workflow process inefficiencies and implementing changes to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Reviewing application architecture and data integration options, making recommendations for on-premise or cloud-hosted solutions.
- Serving as Project Manager for new enterprise-wide applications or updates to existing applications, including creating project plans, tracking budgets, and monitoring project team performance.
- Leading the testing of new software or versions, creating and maintaining test environments, and analyzing test results.
- Creating and maintaining production environments for enterprise-wide applications, including server and desktop specifications, client software packaging, and software installations.
- Resolving and responding to Help Desk tickets related to enterprise-wide applications, noting trends, performing troubleshooting, and problem management.
- Keeping current on patches and releases related to enterprise-wide applications, reviewing release notes, and recommending updates.
- Interfacing with vendors, industry peers, and professional associations to stay informed of existing and evolving industry standards and technologies.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining a high level of knowledge in all enterprise-wide applications, assisting and mentoring Applications Analysts, Administrators, and Engineers, and performing other related job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of ten years of extensive experience managing enterprise-wide applications, preferably in a law firm setting.
- At least five years of related work experience with cloud data analytics platforms and technologies such as Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Solid project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing small to large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of enterprise system integrations, including multi-cloud integrations, data movement (ETL/ELT), and data architecture (Snowflake, MS Fabric).
- Proficiency in data preparation (Azure Data Factory) and data consumption and visualization (PowerBI).
- Knowledge of infrastructure, server, operating systems, and network communications.
- Strong ability to install and maintain enterprise-wide applications, including servers, customizations, integrations, load balancing, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Proficiency in SQL server and SQL scripting.
- Extensive knowledge of various Microsoft technologies, including Azure AD, Azure AD Application Proxy, Power BI, OneDrive, and Azure Virtual Desktop remote app streaming.
- Certification in Microsoft 365 Enterprise is preferred.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Senior Enterprise Applications and Data Architect position at the law firm varies depending on factors such as experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market demands, and other business needs. The salary range for this position applies to locations including Atlantic City, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Morristown, New York, Princeton, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, . It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The role operates in a clerical, office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position involves sedentary work, requiring exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds. Sitting is required most of the time, with occasional walking and standing necessary to carry out job duties. The worker is required to have close visual acuity for activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
