Job Title: Compensation Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Compensation Analyst at the law firm involves supporting the management of attorney compensation programs for a private practice law firm with over 500 attorneys. The key responsibilities include providing ongoing data and analysis support to the Attorney Compensation Manager. The analyst will handle data provision for the annual Associate Compensation process, the Counsel Compensation process, and the SHARE process. Routine analyses, such as monthly hours statistics and quarterly/annual processes for special committees, are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires ongoing document management and tracking related to attorney contracts, incentives, special bonuses, and attorney transitions. The analyst will work closely with payroll staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of all attorney payments and create and maintain contract partner payment schedules. Other duties involve tracking hiring, departures, and other status changes for attorneys and patent agents, providing data support for lateral analyses and pay equity reviews, and maintaining the Attorney Compensation SharePoint. The analyst is also responsible for maintaining and updating team-built tools, updating budget hours, administering year-end budget hours solicitation processes, and handling ad hoc credit allocation reporting. Additional responsibilities include tracking the PTE tax opt-in process, assisting with internal and external survey data provision, participating in team quality assurance activities, and completing project assignments as required.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates are required to have at least 2 years of experience in an analyst or compensation role. They must perform well under pressure and execute assignments with minimal direction. Advanced skills in standard MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, are required. Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, and SQL applications is preferred. The ability to understand and interpret financial and performance data is essential. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to meet reporting deadlines. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is necessary, along with strong communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels of a professional services organization. Previous experience in a law firm or professional services organization, supporting a multi-office environment, is strongly preferred. A BA/BS degree is required, with preference given to degrees in Accounting/Finance, Business, Economics, or related fields.
Salary Information:
For the position in Washington State, the annualized salary range is between $90,000 to $99,000, which equates to an hourly rate of to . Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may be eligible for a bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
