Legal Assistant, Default Chronologies
Job Responsibilities
The Legal Assistant, Default Chronologies, is tasked with assisting in the preparation of legal reports that provide concise, factual, and informative summaries of the foreclosure process. This role involves maintaining a daily workload to meet all client and regulatory requirements. Daily work is distributed among team members for completion. The Legal Assistant must maintain a working knowledge of work rules and any changes in these rules that govern chronologies. Essential functions include:
- Completing the daily workload and ensuring that all prepared chronologies for clients are completed in accordance with governing work rules, client procedures, and service level agreements.
- Handling and ensuring all escalations are corresponded with attorneys, sales, and clients on issues to be included in the chronologies within applicable timeframes.
- Ensuring all chronology reports are sent to the requestor via the Lender system.
- Responding to client inquiries via phone, email, and lender systems regarding additional details about the chronologies.
- Assisting with maintaining workflow timeliness through investor prioritization, including addressing standard and RUSH items to maximize compliance with client service level agreements.
- Staying informed of client changes, updates, CFPB changes, and state regulatory changes, and taking appropriate action as required.
- Performing other duties as required.
Education and Experience Information
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, although some college education is acceptable, with a high school diploma being mandatory. A minimum of 1+ years of mortgage servicing experience is required, and 1+ years of foreclosure experience is preferred.
Requirements for the role include:
- Knowledge of real estate/loan documents.
- Strong working knowledge of default services, including foreclosure, eviction, and bankruptcy.

Salary Information
The pay range for this position is $20 to $23 hourly.
